Жазуу is the writing subtest of the Kyrgyztest exam. For level A1 Kyrgyztest publishes the questions themselves: two pages of the official site carry 90 of them. Here is the whole list verbatim, with translations and the source of every question, plus sample answers to fifteen of them built only from course phrases. Not a single invented Kyrgyz sentence: where there is no official answer, we say so.

What the Жазуу subtest is and how many tasks it has

Жазуу means “writing” — the fourth of the five subtests of the Kyrgyztest certification exam. The published testing procedure gives it three tasks and twenty-five minutes; the whole exam runs two hours fifty minutes.

The site publishes no separate structure “for A1 only”: the structure is the same for all levels, and it is the tasks that differ, built to the level requirements A1–C1. What writing means at the elementary level is spelled out by the first item of the A1 self-assessment sheet: filling in forms using information about yourself, your family, studies, job and country.

The practical conclusion is simple: at A1 nobody expects an essay — they expect short written answers to questions about you.

The official question list: two pages, 90 questions

Kyrgyztest publishes A1 Жазуу samples on two pages. The first is the subtest topics page, section for level A1: 25 questions (“List 1” in the tables below). The second is page 1480-2: 67 questions (“List 2”). Two questions appear on both pages, so the number of distinct questions is exactly 90.

The instruction on both pages is identical: ten questions are offered, and each one must be read carefully and answered in writing. The only explicit formatting requirement is that numbers are written as words, not as digits.

Both pages state plainly that these are samples: questions of this kind are given according to the A1 level requirements. So the wording in the real exam may differ, while the topics and the question types stay the same. The thematic grouping below is ours — the official pages give one continuous numbered list.

How to answer: samples built from course phrases

Kyrgyztest publishes no official model answers — only the questions. So every sample below is a phrase from the learn.kg A1 course: the one a learner hears in the audio and types on a flashcard. We do not compose plausible-looking Kyrgyz: each phrase in the table has a number in the course.

The first group covers yourself, your job, the time and the way you get to work.

Use them as a frame: the construction stays, one word changes — the job, the city, the time. And mind the numbers: in the answer “Саат он” the number is written as a word, exactly as the instruction requires.

The remaining 75 questions above are deliberately left without a sample: the course has no ready phrase for them, and inventing a Kyrgyz answer is precisely what we refuse to do.

Answers about interests and etiquette

The second group of samples covers tastes, free time and polite formulas. Etiquette questions (how you say goodbye, how you congratulate) are convenient: the answer is a fixed formula rather than a story about yourself.

The formulas themselves, with audio, live in the A1 course; every phrase in the table comes from there.

How Жазуу is marked, and what is not public

Writing and speaking are marked by qualified philologists rather than by software — that is written into the regulation on the Kyrgyztest system (Government Decree No. 430).

The same regulation sets the general threshold: the certificate is issued if the candidate scores 60 percent of points or more in each subtest; below that, a statement listing the points scored is issued instead.

The marking criteria for Жазуу in points — what costs you marks and what earns them — are published for no level at all. We say it plainly: they are not in the public domain, and any “list of criteria” on the internet, ours included, would be guesswork. We are not printing that guess.

Where to practise

A question list is worth exactly as much as your ability to answer it aloud and in writing. The order is simple: take the A1 practice exam end to end, see which topics sag, and top them up in the A1 course, where phrases come with audio and typing.
